September 2019 Update

Music & Theatre

This year is officially the last year that I will compete at the Missouri State Fair. Six years and a lot of disappointments later, it’s really time to move on. Videos of my final performance will be available soon on my Music page.

I have a new Repertoire page live on the site. There it includes the songs that I have performed over the years, with more being added. Also added is a Resume page for my work in theatre.

I am looking for singing gigs within about a two hour radius of Columbia, MO, so if your location fits that profile, please send me a message. It is only a guideline, if you’re just outside of that radius, go ahead and send me a message. More often than not I should be able to grant the request.

Other Notes

I have been off of the two medications prescribed for high blood pressure and cholesterol for a couple of months now, and I feel so much better. It really sucks when you’re given medication to solve one issue, but then it causes another, being the inability to move well, or to walk for longer periods of time. I still have bad days health-wise, but they are becoming few and far between. I also got notification that the diabetes injections I have been taking will also run out, so I have been ramping up the exercise so I’ll never have the need for those meds ever again.

I will be participating in my very first Sword Experience near the end of September. This will be the first time where I will be able to have real stage combat training that I wasn’t otherwise afforded because of my gender. This will also give me an added health benefit as I will also be using this training as a form of exercise and well-being. If this goes well, I can justify the cost of participating again.

Coming up in October my daughter and I will be attending a couple of big name concerts. First up, Hugh Jackman. I was so upset that I couldn’t go to the show in Chicago earlier this year due to finances, but a few weeks ago I found out that he was coming to Kansas City, so I jumped at the chance to see him live. Later on in the month, Celine Dion. It had been 10 years since I last saw her live, so we’re going to get the chance to rectify that in St. Louis.

That’s all for now. Stay cool!
